Keynote Speaker: Chris Baker, Battalion Chief, Roseville Fire (Ret.) will be speaking on his perspective as a first responder at the Camp Fire. The Camp Fire was the deadliest and most destructive in the modern history of California having taken at least 86 lives and destroying over 18,000 structures. Chris responded with a California Office of Emergency Services Type I engine strike team to downtown Paradise on the morning of November 8, 2018, after the fire entered the city. Chris will describe what was seen, done, sacrificed, and learned during the days Paradise burned, including how first responder communications systems were used and how they performed.

San Francisco Fire Department (Ret.)
Assistant Chief Tom Siragusa is a 42-year veteran of the fire service and recently retired as an Assistant Chief with the San Francisco Fire Department. He served as a firefighter in 1976-77 with the California Department of Forestry in Middletown, California. He was a Firefighter/Paramedic with the San Rafael (CA) Fire Department from 1980-82. He has spent most of his career with the SFFD in the South of Market and Mission Districts of San Francisco. Tom was the Director of Training for the SFFD from 2004-2009. He served as the Deputy Chief of Operations from July 2011 – February 2012. He is a California state certified fire instructor and a chief officer level instructor for high-rise operations, multi-alarm incidents and ICS for hazardous materials incidents.
